The Annual General Meeting has been confirmed for Saturday 6th March @ 12 noon. The AGM will be held on Simpson Lawn @ La Trobe Bundoora.

How does this work?
A good question sir / madam / your excellency. There are numerous positions available for members to sign up. These positions are part of the LUNASY Committee
The position will be announced by the current president (myself) and a member of the AGM meeting will nominate another person to run for that positon. He / she accepts or declines nomination. If nomination is seconded by another and the nomination is accepted, then the position can be challenged by another wanting to run for that position (in which case speeches are given and a vote commences). If no challenge is made, the nominee becomes the <title> of the club for 2010. If a challenge is made and seconded, the person to get the position is voted in by the majority of winning votes in their name

What positions are available and what do they do?
Another excellent question young one. The positions for 2010 are as follows:

Note: ALL POSITIONS are to assist in bringing forward ideas and to help in running events, as well as their primary tasks.

President - The President is the big cheese, that assists in running everything related to the club and is the one that brings most of the ideas to the table. A signature on the bank account

Secretary - The Secretary's primary objective is to document all meetings.

Treasurer - The Treasurer is the keeper of the club funds.

Publicist - The Publicist is the one to maintain current sponsorships, as well as promote ALL events around the campus and elsewhere if need be.

Librarian / Screening Director - Commands the anime that is to be screened throughout the semester, both weekly screenings and for marathons.

Web Administrator - The website / forum maintenance person. Need knowledge in HTML plus forum structures and administration.

One more important point that must be made. To be eligible for a committee position, you must have already been a member of the club for at least one year, in addition you must be a FULL TIME student for ALL of 2010

Why is full-time essential? Is that a C&S rule?

I'd have thought that if a part-time student was willing and able to offer more time and effort to the club than a full-time student, that would be preferable.

I say full time because that way if you're just a part time student, you'll barely be at the uni, let alone willing to turn up just for say a 1 hour club meeting in the day or something.

Plus part time may also indicate you're only there for a semester. We need the person to be at uni in order to run the club. It's not a C&S thing, it's my thing. I would like to believe that the club will survive post me in charge. It did take a crappity smack tonne amount of effort to keep the club alive back in 2007 (especially with the doubters saying it'll die in my hands) and then keep it going for '08 & '09

I'll do the rat sheet ad tmrw while I'm at uni

What a fantastic AGM! I was surprised that someone wanted publicist (its not something i would ever do), but i dont think anyone was surprised with the choice of President.
...Now i just need to find a suitable cushion for him
